I've Coached Adults From Their First Steps on the Ice

I started the Learn to Play program at CU — coaching grad students how to play hockey from scratch. First time in skates to actually playing the game.

So wherever you're starting from — you picked it up at 35, you played as a kid and got rusty, or you've been grinding the same beer league for ten years — I've coached someone standing exactly where you are. No judgment. Just a plan to get better.

11+ years coaching every level — including adults who'd never laced up before.

A Better Way to Get Better

Here's the honest truth: you don't get that much better in the hour you spend with me. You get better in all the hours you don't. So I won't run you through a weekly program you have to build your life around.

1

We Start With a Session

Bring whatever's been bugging you — or no clue at all, and I'll watch you skate and tell you. We work on it, and you leave with a few simple drills you can do on your own at stick-and-puck and beer league games.

2

You Put In the Reps

On your time, on your schedule. The drills are simple and aimed at things that actually move your game. No app, no homework log, nobody nagging you.

3

Come Back With 60 Minutes of Questions

Once you've grinded the drills and stacked up enough to make an hour worth it, text me. We knock it all out at once. Rinse and repeat on your schedule. Could be three weeks, could be three months. Your call, your wallet, your game.

Coaching built around your life and your budget — not a subscription you forget to cancel.

We Target What Translates Fastest

We start with where you are and we build off of what you have. We'll target the things that will translate the fastest to your game.

⛸️

Skating & Edges

The foundation of everything. Stop fighting your feet and start generating real speed and balance.

🏒

The One Thing That's Bugged You

Your backhand. Stopping on your off side. That shot that never goes where you aim. We fix the thing you've quietly hated for years.

🧠

Positioning & Game IQ

Where to be so you're not chasing the play and gassed by the third shift. Half of beer league is reads, not legs.

🎯

Shooting & Finishing

A quicker release and actually burying the chances you're already getting.

Simple Pricing

Pay as you go. No auto-renew, no expiring credits — book whenever you've got an hour's worth of questions.

Straight Answers

Do I have to be good already?
No. I've coached people who'd never been on skates. You don't need to impress me — you need an hour that's actually about you.
I haven't skated in years.
Then we start with edges and balance and build from there. You'll feel the difference the same hour, and you'll leave with drills to take home.
How often do I have to come?
As often or as rarely as you want. The whole point is you put in reps on your own and book me when you've got an hour's worth of questions. No commitment, no package to cancel.
Can I bring my linemates?
Yes — grab 2 to 4 and we'll run a group session. Cheaper per guy, lower pressure, and a lot more fun than going solo.
Where is it, and what does it cost?
Front Range of Colorado. Text me your schedule and I'll send the week's open ice times and current session rates. You pay your own ice fee at the rink.
